No one teaches you how to think.
It's the most important tool in our lives, and no one teaches us.
I remember sitting on the coach once, nursing twin girls at the same time, watching my 18mo son playing on the floor, and I heard my thoughts...
I actually think that was the first time that I truly HEARD my thoughts...
It was so vivid, and a little scary.
It was mean too... Like, dark!!
It scared me. I called my doctor and said: "I might have a problem"
Turned out it was postpartum depression and neurosis.
I never heard of such a thing. The doctor called me in and in less than 3 hours from that phone call, I was pumping pills in my system to call those thoughts down.
Neurosis...
Hormones can do interesting things with our bodies.
But what caught my attention is that, about 6 months or so I was able to get out of the depression medication and go on with my life.
The dark thoughts were gone, but now I was able to hear everything else that was in my mind.
