Blog & Podcast
About one year ago I started a podcast, and right after I published the first episode, I signed a contract to work with a coaching company, and due to some legality issues, I had to stop that podcast. But, things have now been resolved and I am super pumped to start recording again. And, the coolest part is that I will also have the blogs, in case you rather read it, but don't want to get stuck reading the transcript. - Don't worry, the transcript is on the podcast page too!! See how you CAN have it all!??
Welcome to "Get Out of the Rut" Episode 1. In this captivating return to podcasting, I am thrilled to share my personal journey and the profound impact coaching has had on my life. Now, I'm back with a renewed passion, eager to connect with my audience and delve into the transformative power of coaching.
Reflecting on my five years of dedicated coaching experience, the journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Since completing my certification four years ago, I've accumulated close to a thousand hours of coaching. The pride I feel in witnessing my clients' transformations is immeasurable. As a nugget of advice for new coaches, I emphasize the importance of keeping a detailed record of coaching sessions, a practice that has proved invaluable in my own professional growth.
The inception of my coaching journey traces back to an introduction to coaching through the self-help world in 2018. Living in a one-bedroom apartment with my family at the time, while we waited for our house to be built, I experienced a transformative shift in mindset and self-perception. This awakening laid the foundation for my future in coaching, a path I had not initially considered.
My initial perception of coaching evolved when a podcast episode about weight loss caught my attention. Intrigued by the possibility of enjoying the process of losing weight and doing it mainly with my brain, I made a $500 investment in my first coaching program. This decision marked a pivotal moment in my life, setting me on the trajectory toward coaching. The role of intuition in guiding me towards coaching is a testament to the power of following one's instincts.
The certification process that followed was a fulfilling and transformative experience. Making friends for life and solidifying my commitment to coaching, the journey was both rewarding and challenging. It reinforced the belief that coaching is not just a profession but a calling that has become my life's focal point.
The narrative takes an inspiring turn as I share a personal achievement from the challenging times of 2020. Setting a goal of running for 30 seconds, I faced difficulties, embarrassment, and negative self-talk. The journey to achieving this seemingly simple goal became a profound exploration of self. Through persistence and a strategic shift in focus, I not only reached my running goal but also underwent a significant transformation in my relationship with myself.
The power of self-love became evident as my commitment to running translated into better lifestyle choices, resulting in a substantial weight loss of approximately 40 pounds in less than four to six months. This experience underscored the importance of the person one becomes during the pursuit of a goal, emphasizing the profound impact of self-transformation.
The journey wasn't without its challenges. Negative self-talk, embarrassment, and shame were constant companions during the process. However, the persistence to shift focus and celebrate small victories became the key to overcoming these challenges. It wasn't just about achieving the goal of running for 30 seconds; it was about becoming a person capable of setting and achieving goals through self-love and determination.
I know you can also have a transformation in your life when you are able to shift your beliefs, especially how you see yourself. I am super excited to start this podcast journey with you!
Make sure you share this blog (or the podcast) with your family and friends! Not only because selfishly I want this to grow, but also because I know when we do this work with the people closest to us, the journey just becomes a lot more fun!!
Much Love,
Thais G
